After the release of "MOB RULES," the American tour started in mid-February 1982, with official performances at three venues: Seattle on April 24th, Dallas on May 12th, and San Antonio on May 13th. It was recorded and later released as the band's first official live album, ``LIVE EVIL.'' Video was also being shot at the Dallas performance at the same time, and several types of 16mm film reels have been seen among overseas enthusiasts (one theory is that it was shot as PR material for a live album). The footage contained in these films was originally silent, but fans are aware that these images were overlaid with audio from the same day's Dallas performance from "LIVE EVIL". However, in many of them, the video and audio were out of sync, so even if you could "know" the atmosphere of the live performance, you couldn't "enjoy" it. This time, an amazing high-quality material from overseas has appeared that perfectly synchronizes the film image and audio! The harmony of precious images and excellent sound is sure to amaze fans from the first song, "The Mob Rules." The age-appropriate color tones also give the film a tasteful texture that is typical of film (the time counter displayed at the bottom of the screen also gives a sense of the underground mood of people involved in the film being leaked). The following "N.I.B." and "Children Of The Sea" also have a natural impression as the sound meshes perfectly with Iommi's playing and Vinnie's drums (Ronnie's singing and melodic signature match perfectly) "N.I.B." is a must-see). The composition of "Voodoo" taken from the stage seems to have been adapted to the sound based on Ronnie's actions, but I was more than surprised at the knowledge and ability of the overseas enthusiasts to match the scene with the sound. It's so much so. The highlights of this video are “War Pigs” and “Heaven And Hell.” In "War Pigs," the cameraman penetrates the audience and captures realistic shots that look up at the stage from the front row. The zoom in on Ronnie shown at key points is also accurate, and you can't help but stare at the powerful screen. And “Heaven And Hell” is recorded from the beginning where Ronnie does the MC. The scene where you can see the call and response between Ronnie and the audience in the intro is a highlight that can only be seen in the video. Even avid SABBATH enthusiasts will wonder, “Is this actually how it was done?” The footage of Ronnie's singing in "Iron Man" and Iommi's guitar solo is so fitting that you can't help but think that the film had audio from the beginning. The total length of this film footage has been confirmed to be approximately 25 minutes, but all of it is silent. Furthermore, the songs are scattered in different scenes and are not originally organized as a single song. I think that enthusiasts will understand how amazing the synchronization work is, which judges the song from only these fragmentary images (of a few seconds depending on the location) and applies the audio without any deviation. It's easy to simply add sound to images without thinking about it, but there's no "value" in that. However, the content of the video was accurately determined, and after careful work, the video was revived with audio from the same day, and it has an official level (or even more!) value and significance. Although this work is only 13 minutes long, the amount of time and effort that went into creating that 13 minutes is immeasurable. Unless you really like BLACK SABBATH, you will never be able to synchronize the video and audio at this level. This work can be said to be the ultimate live video “given by SABBATH enthusiasts to fellow enthusiasts”. Live at Dallas Convention Center Arena, Dallas, Texas, USA 12th May 1982 PRO-SHOT 1.
