This title is a collection of recordings of the Quarrymen or Silver before their debut, before they called themselves The Beatles. A total of four recordings are included, all of which use low-generation sources that exceed the conventional sound quality, and the pitch, which was unstable because it was an old tape, has been perfectly adjusted, making it the definitive historical recording. First, Disc 1 is from the Quarrymen's live recording at the Woolton Church, famous as the recording of the day John and Paul met. It is a miraculous 1957 audience recording that survives, and the vocals are undoubtedly John's voice. This performance is said to be from the afternoon session, and it is a recording from before history began, just before John was introduced to Paul. It was originally put up for auction, and only "Puttin' On The Style" could be heard from the sample recording, but the one recorded here is much longer than the previous ones, with a total recording of 1 minute 45 seconds. In addition, the pitch has been adjusted, and not only is John's voice natural, but the performance is also slapstick like an amateur band. Recently, we have also been able to listen to a short version of "Baby Let's Play House," which was recorded at the same time. Next up are "That'll Be The Day" and "In Spite Of All Danger," which were recorded at Philips Studio in mid-1958 (there are various theories about the time, and some members remember that they went to the studio wearing coats, so it was winter). These two songs were also included in the anthology, and the latter has become so famous that Paul has recently taken up the song on stage, but this is the first time they have been officially recorded, so it is still valuable. In addition, these two songs in the anthology were heavily processed and recorded with a higher pitch, whether intentionally or not, which made the vocals sound unnaturally high-pitched and unnatural. Here, the pitch has been accurately corrected and the sound source before sound processing has been recorded, so it may feel a little slower than the anthology, but this is the sound they were playing at the time. "That'll Be The Day" was broadcast on BBC Radio on September 12, 1985, with the original acetate owned by Paul, which is also recorded separately. The pitch is still as fast as ever, but you can hear Paul in 1985 lightly strumming his guitar and humming along to this acetate. The second half of Disc 1 contains a home recording made at Paul's house on Forthlin Road in April 1960. This is a famous sound source from analog bootlegs such as "LIVERPOOL MAY 1960" and "QUARRYMEN AT HOME", but this work uses low-generation sources and has been significantly upgraded in sound quality from the previous ones. For example, compared to VIGOTONE's "WILD CAT", the difference in generation beyond the level of sound processing is clear, and it can be seen that the original sound source, which gave the impression of being a "private tape with poor sound recorded by an amateur on a tape recorder", was originally a sound quality worthy of appreciation. Another major feature of this work is that the pitch has been adjusted. Disc 2 contains home recordings made in July 1960, also at Paul's home. This is about three months after the recordings on Disc 1, and it is possible to listen to a fairly complete performance, which shows the improvement of the band's performance technique at this time. Compared to the April recordings, which were mostly instrumental, this July recording adds vocals and many of the songs are well-made, making it very worth listening to. "One After 909" is a young and rough performance, which is interesting when compared to later versions. "I'll Follow The Sun," which was later completed in "Beatles For Sale," has the same basic melody, but it is interesting because it has a never-before-heard middle part added. "Hello Little Girl" is also arranged at a fairly slow tempo. This tape, which is said to have been recorded in July 1960, lasts for about 50 minutes, and although it is an amateurish performance, it shines like a gemstone that foreshadows the later Beatles. The sound quality has been significantly improved and the pitch has been properly adjusted, making this a truly definitive album. This is a collection of precious recordings of the Beatles before their debut, centered around home tapes recorded at Paul's home in 1960, from the time when they were still called the Quarrymen or Silver Beatles. The recordings from the day John and Paul met, the first professional recording acetate, and two home tapes are all recorded with perfect pitch and upgraded sound quality. The home tapes in particular were significantly upgraded and the recording time extended about 10 years ago, but this time they have been upgraded even further.
