Hamburg, including the first appearance sound source, is Star Club's definitive edition! ! Introducing a definitive edition that includes many newly leaked first appearance parts that recorded the Beatles' last Hamburg tour in December 1962, three days at the Star Club! It has been a hot topic among enthusiasts, and the first excavated sound source of this year, following last year's Share, Memphis, and Sargent Multitrack, has been long awaited, and it will be released as part of the Live Chronicle series! This Star Club sound source is said to have been recorded by Adrian Barber, who was the stage manager at the time, during the Beatles' last Hamburg tour in December 1962, on December 25th, 28th, and 31st, and various recordings were made. Perhaps the first release in the world was in 1977 as a 2-disc official analog edition. However, this release version is far from the complete version of the tape, with different song selections due to copyright issues in each country (UK, US, Germany), excessive pseudo-stereo processing as expected for the official version, and MC. It was also fitted in a position different from the actual position. Still, as the beginning of the Star Club sound source, maniacs were overjoyed by the Beatles' rough playing in the early days. However, it was possible to imagine that there were still other materials available as a sound source, as the first appearance was recorded in fragments in the bootleg released after that. And while fans desperately wanted to know the full story, they changed hands and products with half-hearted contents, and even official editions were released randomly due to ambiguous rights. The recordings were made over three days, but until now they had all been edited without regard to the actual order in which they were played, and it was not even possible to know the exact order of the songs (the order of the songs varied depending on the title). It was also not clear which take was recorded on which day. This work is sure to become a hot topic that will stir up the thoughts of such researchers and enthusiasts. The recorded content is organized by date of recording. First of all, for December 25th, "Be-Bop A Lula" is the first song, and up to track 12 are recorded in the actual order of performance from the unedited tape provided specially for this CD set. It has been. The MC between songs is also recorded from the unreleased master tape as long as possible, and it can be said to be a truly surprising content for those who have listened to the regular LP and CD. It is interesting that the three-day set list revealed this time is slightly different from that published in "FROM CAVERN TO LIVERPOOL" and the 910 guide that is a descendant of it. This was determined based on the testimonies of past people involved and cuts from underground tapes that were leaked before the release of this work, and is worth noting as it overturns the existing theory. What is most interesting in terms of content is “Red Hot,” which I could only listen to in fragments for 32 seconds until now. However, even in this recording, the time is 1 minute and 4 seconds, which is not a complete recording, but the point is that it is recorded until a little after the interlude, which could not be heard until now. Moreover, the interlude is played by the Hammond organ. It is unknown who is playing, but it is a valuable record that can only be confirmed in 1965's "I'm Down" and this song that an organ is included in the interlude on the Beatles stage. In addition, “Sheila”, “Simmy Like Kate”, and “Red Sails In The Sunset” had skipped parts in the official version, but here they are recorded as recorded on the actual tape. “I Saw Her Staning There” was a difficult time for sound source researchers, as it was discovered that the take that was previously thought to have been performed on the 31st was actually taken from the first set of tapes left as the sound source. It was a significant release. Since there is no raw tape excavated after "Ask Me Why," the song order from track 13 onwards is based on historical facts and the editor's slight taste, but it is likely that at least 2 songs were recorded on the 25th. It can be assumed that the 21 tracks included here were recorded from more than one set and were left on tape. For the three songs "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down," "Twist And Shout," and "I Remember You," the recording times that were looped and forcibly extended one chorus at a time in the official version have been edited to match the actual performance. It is stored in a corrected form. The performance on December 28th is notable that George's "Nothin' Shakin'" is the opening number, unlike the conventional theory that "A Taste Of Honey" has been the first song. This second set can be heard on the analog boot released by TMQ-affiliated SAVAGE RECORDS as "MACH SHAU!" and its copy edition "BEATLES VS THIRD REICH" (NEMS RECORD series), and in the CD era, several titles were released, but although they all claimed to be recorded from tape sources, in reality they only had needle-raised sources that contained scratch noise to a greater or lesser extent. This 28th recording was recorded for the first time as a tape sound source, and there was a distortion that was painful to listen to, with crackling cracks throughout, probably due to dubbing deterioration of the original sound source, which was a characteristic of the analog version. Almost none. Therefore, “I’m Talking About You”, which is a rare track of this set, feels as if it was a take that appeared for the first time. It can be said that the appearance of tape source by upgrading to this point is a great achievement. It was also revealed for the first time that “A Taste Of Honey”, which we had been accustomed to hearing for a long time in the official version, was actually recorded from the complete version of this second set. “I Saw Her Standing There” is also a take that was released in the regular version, and George’s solo interlude, which had been cut so far due to the pain in the master tape, can now be heard for the first time here. According to the 910 Guide, 7 songs are listed as being performed on December 31st, but only 4 songs are included here. The three songs that were supposed to be played on this day, "Reminiscing," "Ask Me Why," and "I Saw Her Standing There," were recorded on the 25th, and are probably the tapes that were previously considered to be from the 31st. It is extremely likely that this was actually an intentional edited version from multiple sets. Or perhaps only these four songs of the Beatles' performance on the 31st were originally recorded on tape. As for the sound quality, perhaps the route of the sound source is quite close to the owner of the tape, and it has a more natural texture and is easier to listen to than previous official releases and previously released titles. Even in parts where regular sound sources are partially imposed due to unavoidable reasons, we transform them into clean monaural sound sources as much as possible to eliminate differences in sound quality depending on the location. Of course, since it is an audience tape recorded by amateurs 45 years ago, it cannot be denied that there are some parts where you can feel the pain of dropouts and tapes. However, in this release, we have purposely recorded them as they are, so that you can understand what happened on the original tape, why it was cut and edited in the official version, and listen to it to understand the reasons behind the editing. I hope you enjoy following along. <DISC ONE> December 25, 1962 - 01. Be-Bop A-Lula (vocal: Fred Fascher) 02. I Saw Her Standing There 03. Hallelujah I Love Her So (vocal: Horst Fascher) 04.
